About

Satellite Dog is a Psych-Groove band from North Carolina. Taking sonic inspiration from the psychedelic rock n’ roll scene of the 1960’s and 1970’s, they combine musical ideas and rhythms from a plethora of inspirations into a unique retro-modern psych-groove soundscape. Relying heavily on improvisation during live shows, they twist and turn in and out of original tunes as well as originally-spun covers by bands such as the Grateful Dead and Phish.

Their members include Kole Pjetraj (Lead Guitar / Vocals), Jeremy Velazco (Drums / Vocals), Josh Velazco (Bass / Vocals), Walker Howell (Rhythm Guitar / Vocals),  and Henry Horan (Keys). With roots in central North Carolina, the group has maintained a foothold all over the state, with frequent stops in Boone, Chapel Hill, and Raleigh. Expansion into the unknown is a value not only reflected in their deeply improvised jams, but also in their drive to break into new scenes, and the group plans to travel into states such as Georgia and Tennessee in upcoming months to do so. Satellite Dog’s debut EP is set to release later this year, containing a handful of colorful originals and a surprise or two here and there for those made familiar with the live arrangements of their tunes. Welcome onboard and stay tuned for more…
